Is TPE or TPU better for smart headphone wires?Talking about the Solution of High-end Smart Phone Headphone Wire Material

As a person who has accumulated in the industry for more than ten years, it can also be regarded as a "brick house". Now, let's talk about the problem of smartphone headphone wires.
According to the 2018 global smartphone shipment ranking released by the big data of Sunrise, the global smartphone market shipped 1.456 billion units in 2018, while China's smartphone sales have exceeded 396 million units. Of course, the demand for mobile phone accessories, such as headphone cable and data line, is also rising. But take one of the earphones for example, apart from the sound quality, the earphone cable alone, consumers are quite headache, we are pursuing the safety and appearance of mobile phone accessories raw materials, the choice of raw materials is becoming more and more stringent. We usually buy headphones online or go to an electronic store to buy them. Many people don't exchange them twice or three times a year very much. Why? Because the wire is too bad, it always cracks or even breaks; or it is uncomfortable, it is always unwilling to wear. But it is undeniable that some of the Apple or Huawei headphone wires bought in a cat or some East Flagship Store are of very good quality, so they must have found a good solution for headphone wires. If we look carefully at the parameters described by the merchants, we can find that the materials they use are basically TPE materials, which gives us an enlightenment: why is the quality of headphone wires made of TPE materials much better?
In view of the above performance requirements for the data-line outer coating compound, we have studied and tested a variety of materials, such as PE, PVC, TPU and TPE, which have been tried out, especially TPE and TPU materials, we have focused on the analysis and comparison. It is found that both TPU and TPE can be extruded, but TPE has better handle and flexibility than TPU, and the price is cheaper than TPU. In terms of hardness, TPE can achieve 0 A-100A, while TPU can only achieve more than 55A at the lowest. Although TPU and TPE belong to thermoplastic elastomer materials, the bending modulus of TPU is higher than that of TPE. And TPE has better tensile deformation ability than TPU, which is very important, because it can ensure that the earphone skin can effectively protect the inner wire from being easily broken. Therefore, TPE is considered as the most suitable raw material for external use of headphone wire, data wire and other wires.
